A Few More From Halloween

My friend Melissa had a Halloween party for her 9 year old daugher Kimbri
and of course Andrew was invited. So we went over for the festivities which included a cake walk that her dad played guitar and made up songs about monsters for, a scary story reading (which wasn't so scary at all), silly string which I think mostly got sprayed on Mitchell - Melissa's brother,

Not sure exactly what they were doing here but it had something to do with silly string.

a monster mash dance competition,

food that looked kind of gross but tasted good and lots of sugary sweets to make a bunch of 9 year old girls really excitable. Andrew mostly just watched and tried to figure out how to get Scooby off of his head lol.

RAWR!! He really likes to growl - you know getting into character and all.

Ok these are not from Halloween but cute pics nonetheless.

Halloween

We took Andrew to his first pumpkin patch this year for the fall. My favorite time of the year. I love the colors and fall food and the holidays and the cooler weather that finally allows for outdoor activity :-). So of course this was our first fall time activity.
Daddy and Andrew

Of course everything goes in his mouth. Must have tasted a lot like dirt because it was very short lived lol.

He was loving the feel of the pumpkins and just kept feeling all of the little bumps and giggling.

Our family pic

For Halloween I found this super cute Scooby Doo costume for $10 and decided that James and I would go as Shaggy and Velma. I know James doesn't have the wig - he refused - but I did the best I could. It was a lot of fun and I completely loved Andrew in his costume. He kept trying to pull the head down and play with it. Totally didn't get the trick or treating thing but it was all for me anyways.

Nebraska

James is a big Nebraska Cornhusker fan. Once a Husker fan, always a Husker fan since he has lived in Texas for years and we have a lot of football teams here and he has never changed allegiances. With Nebraska leaving the Big 12 this year and not playing UT again he decided that he wanted to go to a home game in Lincoln and that was the one. It was also a great opportunity to take Andrew up there and meet all of James' family there. Unfortunately the trip was too quick for us to see everyone and we'll just have to go again.
Neal and Maureen were kind enough to let us stay with them and their 2 fun boys Jack and Thomas. Andrew loved their house - mostly their tractors and toys with wheels. And the fact that he got to chase the bigger boys around.
Maureen loving on Andrew.

Andrew and Thomas playing trains.

We got to go have lunch with Grandma Fleischman at the nursing home,
Went to Oakland to see Grandma and Grandpa Moseman and have dinner with them.

Laura, Gerry, Evan, Grant and Alana all flew in to go to the game too.

Good smile from the little man.

Game day pics all decked out in our red and white.

The car ride to Lincoln.

Memorial Stadium

James and I taking in the craziness. We were in the visitor section surrounded by UT fans. Not the place to be we determined after we lost the game and they were not so nice

But we had a great time anyways and enjoyed getting to see all of the family that we did and wish we would have been able to see everyone.

Visit with Friends

We had some good friends - The Taylor family move away to Flagstaff 2 years ago and their oldest son Reggie (they have 9) came home from his mission in August so he and the next oldest son Nick along with the 2 youngest Benjamin and Abby came to visit us when Reggie reported from his mission. It was so much fun to catch up and spend time with them. We miss them now that they live so far away. Kerry, Benjamin, Abby, Andrew and I all went to Seaworld on the Saturday they were here while the oldest 2 boys went to Schlitterbahn and James went to watch the football game and work on his car. Here are some pics from our Seaworld fun. Andrew hanging out trying to figure out what we are doing..and Ben and Abby in the background. Kerry, Ben and Abby by Shamu. Ben was really excited about that. Inside the aquarium. Can you tell Andrew was pretty entertained by the aquarium? This is a random picture of the destruction this little man causes regularly around the house. We had a box full of newspaper and recycling to go out that couldn't fit in the bin so we had it in the house the day before taking it out to the curb. Andrew managed to pull the big box over and pull all of the insides out and he thought it was AWESOME!!

Capitol Building

So I have been to the capitol building here about a hundred times since moving to Austin, but Britt hadn't. We took a quick night drive down there right before she left so that she could see all of the really cool things about our capitol building.
All of the doorknobs have stars for the Lonestar state.

The 6 flags of Texas.

Looking up at the star.

Brittany loves the staircases so here is one of the main staircases in the building.

Britt posing....apparently someone in our family likes pics and it isn't me can you tell?
