Testing out the Tools around the House

I get a lot of really random handouts at my work functions but 2 of the things I happened to get recently were little mini screwdriver sets. I have been keeping them in my little kitchen desk drawer so they were always easy to find. Well I guess easy for me to find also means easy for Andrew to find.

I came home from work the other day to find him fresh out of the bath, and he had picked them out of the drawer, figured out how to turn on both of the flashlights,

took out all of the little screw driver bits and put them in, took them back out, put them in again, gouged my coffee table

Memorial Day - Well Dessert at least

I made this super killer dessert for Memorial Day. We went to a bbq at a friends house and I wanted to make sure I brought a super yummy treat. I made a red velvet, strawberry layer cake. Sooo good. It started out with a layer of red velvet cake.

Then a layer of homemade whipped cream and fresh strawberries.


Then a layer of white vanilla cake, with whipped cream and fresh strawberries


And frost it all with a delicious cream cheese frosting.

And you get a fantastically, wonderful, fluffy and light dessert!

Wedding Season

A quick Hooray for our friends Jared and Julie who tied the knot over Memorial Day Weekend.

We are so excited for them to have found each other. They make each other happy and are so cute together and we wish them all the best and many happy years together.

Temper Tantrum

We are in the fun stages of temper tantrums right now. And it drives me crazy but I just can't help but laugh about it because he is so ridiculously dramatic. Here is our progression of a temper tantrum from Andrew. I dread 2 if it is like this already!

Books Galore!

Everytime Andrew can get in his room to his bookshelf he pulls every single book out of the shelf and brings them to me. He usually lets me get through about 2 pages before he gets impatient and turns to the end of the book, and back to the front and everywhere in between.

Seriously how cute is this little face?!?!



I love these moments when he first wakes up in the morning and he is so sweet and eager to learn new things and I have to remind myself of those cute moments when later in the afternoon he is driving me nuts getting into everything!!

Mother's Day 2011

For Mother's Day this year James and I decided to get a joint gift for Father's Day and Mother's Day. A new grill because our other one pretty much quit working. We found a food deal at Sears and picked up a new one and I made some very yummy steaks for Mother's Day dinner.

Andrew helping Daddy put it together...in reality he scratched the whole back of it before James even finished getting it out of the box lol. Good thing it just goes outside and gets beat up anyways.

Andrew was really helping out here.


And I look forward to using the grill a lot more times when it gets so hot this summer!!

Walking, Finally!

A little out of order....this was supposed to post at the end of April and I guess it never did.

We have been thinking that Andrew was going to start walking for such a long time I think we finally had given up. He started moving very early but has just been stubborn about the walking thing. He is 16 months now and just finally started taking steps on his own. He was very motivated by ice cream and a "as seen on tv" grabber claw thing he found at Target.
