Cute Bath Pictures

Andrew loves bathtime and looks forward to it every night. He splashes around and plays in the water and the bubbles and eats the bubbles and has a good old time. These are some cute pics of my favorite little man.

My New Dishwasher

Not that exciting a post except for myself of course, but I won a dishwasher at one of my clients open houses in December. I finally got it at the end of January and was sooo excited. Our old dishwasher had to have everything prewashed and even then sometimes washed a second time to get it clean. Pain in the butt!

James working hard to install the new dishwasher for me.

Finally installed. Isn't it pretty and shiny and nice?

The fully loaded dishwasher ready to go for the first time. And it worked marvelously!

1 year Check Up

(Pic from Christmas 2010)
We finally made it home from our long but enjoyable trip. Andrew had his 1 year checkup right after we got home.
He has grown a lot this year. And he is so much fun. Moving around more, talking more, understanding more and loving his mom and dad more now that he can get them to chase him around and swing him and all that. Still not walking though. Why walk when crawling is so efficient right? (pic from Christmas 2010)

He still loves everyone. So far no stranger danger. And a lot more hair. (Pic below from July 2010 with Grandma Fleischman)

He eats everything. I can't think of much he turns down. And just because he ate his food, doesn't mean he won't come beg off of your plate too. He is on whole milk now and solid foods. No bottle really anymore. (Pic below from August 2010)

His Stats:
FOC (Head Measurement) 46 cm 25-50%
Weight 20 lbs 2 oz 10th Percentile
Height 29 1/2" 25-50%

(Pic above from Dec. 2010)
We love having this super cute little man around. He brightens up our days even if life is a bit more crazy and hectic and everything is constantly strewn about the house.
And luckily we survived the first few crazy months and so did he. We have caught up on a lot of sleep and figured a lot of this parenting thing out. And by the time we figure more of it out, he'll change again.
Here are some of my fave pics from when he was first born.

Fleischman Christmas

After we had spent almost a week in Mesa with the Lund family it was time to head to Amarillo to spend New Years with the Fleischman's. We postponed our Christmas there until New Years Eve so that everyone could be there.
Our trip to Amarillo should have been pretty quick and easy except that a giant snowstorm or Snowmageddon hit the Flagstaff area all the way over into Western New Mexico right where we were supposed to drive so we ended up driving the southern route and cutting up to avoid being stuck on I-40 like the last trip we had at Christmas to Mesa. So what should have been a 10-11 hour drive took us about 15. It was a really long drive and Andrew was beyond irritated when we got there. But we survived. We had a nice visit with the Fleischman family - watched the Nebraska game which was a disappointment. Thanks to the Big 12 for completely screwing us on the way out of your conference. Hello Big 10.
These were just some really cute pics of AK before we headed over to Michelle's for Christmas. He was in a super good mood and really loves to play on the fireplace.

Don't worry we only let him severly burn himself with the lighter he found in the wood pile....

The calm before the storm. We had the older kids passing out the gifts to everyone so they could make their pile.

The boys waiting for their pile to be delivered.

Grandma helping decipher gifts and deliver the more heavy stuff.

Dan videotaping me taking pics....and someone somewhere was probably opening a gift.

Macy opening one of her gifts.

You can tell Meredith is on standby ready to tear into hers as soon as Macy finishes lol.
Andrew wasn't sure what was going on with all the crazy kids but he was having fun watching them.
Samuel and Nicholas have bucked family tradition in the football teams they have decided to root for and Samuel likes the Baylor Bears, Nicholas likes the UT Longhorns much to their Uncle James' dismay. Grandma and Grandpa bought them their own sweatshirts of each team and new t-shirts. Here is Sam with his.
Dan opening one of the traditional Fleischman gifts - very heavy tools.

Nicholas wanted lots of Itunes gift cards so here is one of them.

Aunt Michelle and family got Andrew some Thomas the Tank Engine toys. Lots of wheels so he is in love already.
Grandma really wanted a Kindle this year so she can keep up on her reading.

Lane loves opening gifts. Especially when they are cars.

1st Birthday

Poor Andrew this year kind of got the short end of the stick on his birthday. We had a big party planned with all of the family in Mesa that we were going to do at Robert and Nannette's and that way we could try and see everyone. Well with the nasty stomach bug from hell (see previous post) we were all recovered, recovering or somewhere in between and didn't want to risk giving it to anyone else at the party so we cancelled it. I did make cake - James had also kind of gotten gypped out of his birthday cake so I made a German Chocolate cake for him and a couple of cupcakes with buttercream frosting for Andrew. Then we just had our own little get together, decorated with half off Christmas decorations and he never knew the difference.
He wasn't quite sure what to make of the cupcake at first.
Then we lit the candle to sing to him and all he wanted to do was play with the candle.

He was really confused that I was letting him have this so he kept poking at it.

Didn't take long for him to dig right in though. He has a sweet tooth like his momma.

James, Andrew and I post cake.

The aerial group shot. Mom didn't want to be in because she was still not feeling well at all.

I think he enjoyed it just a bit. What do you think?

Christmas 2010

This year was our year to spend Christmas with my family. We have tried to set it up to where we spend every other year with our families on Christmas. All of us met up at mom and dad's house in Apache Junction to spend almost a week together. James and Andrew and I left on Wednesday before Christmas to make the 18 hour drive there. We drove halfway to Las Cruces, stopped for the night and drove the rest of the way on Thursday to get there. Andrew was not a huge fan of being stuck in his car seat. He would do ok for about 3 hours at a time and then would go into a full scale freak out. We tried to plan our stops around that time frame to avoid as much of it as possible but he was definitely glad to be out of the car.
We decided to go bowling on Christmas Eve after running our last minute errands and shopping. We had a lot of fun.
Grandma and Andrew

Britt actually won the game

Afterwards we were running to Costco for our last - last minute shopping trip before Christmas and I got sick all over the parking lot. Not fun. We headed straight back home for me to go to bed and hopefully avoid getting everyone else sick and for me to feel better.
BrieAnn and Jake and their 2 little sweeties showed up and Cora was sick too. I avoided dinner and just hung out while Kalli and Steve, Megan and Britt and Kiersty and Seth built their gingerbread houses for our gingerbread house contest. (also included graham crackers when they ran out of gingerbread)

Kalli and Steve's Snow Shack. They even have an ice fishing pod.

Meg and Britt's conventional gingerbread house.

Kiersty and Seth's Conference Center complete with waterfall and rotating protest placard.

Before long both James and I were sick with the stomach bug from hell, Kalli got it at the end of the night and it was quite miserable. Mom and Dad kept Andrew in the house with them so that James and I could try and sleep. I ended up passing out twice and bashing my nose in and just in general feeling like crap all night and so did poor James and Kalli.
So Christmas morning James and I were pretty out of it. Him more than me because I was on the tail end of it. Pardon my very unattractive self in the photos of Christmas but we were lucky to even get these.
Seth getting his Boise State hat.

Kalli getting something. Not sure what.

Andrew getting one of his fun gifts. Poor kid has his birthday 2 days after Christmas so he didn't get much fun stuff from us. One toy and pajamas and clothes. Lots of books.

James getting his "tools" from Steve. He needed a gift card from Harbor Freight but Steve decided to make him work to get the cash.

Mom and Dad have lost a lot of weight this past year all of their clothes are too big. Mom got 2 pairs of pants and a new shirt.

Dad got a whole lot of new shirts and his Father's Day present, and a digital photo keychain. All kinds of goodies.

Andrew loving his walker

Kiersty got a huge, soft fluffy robe that was even tall enough for her.

Brittany and her ipod speakers.

Aside from the being sick we had a really good Christmas. We had so many gifts from Amazon we could have done a commercial lol. Unfortunately the stomach bug also hit everyone else in the family over the next couple of days except lucky Kiersty and Steve.
