Pinks All Out

James' dad raced in Pinks All Out in Dallas again this year so we took Andrew to his first race. I'm sure there will be many more to come in his lifetime. He was terrified of all of the cars and how loud they were so we spent the day in the trailer but had a fun time getting to see all of the family anyways. His Uncle Merlin, Aunt Beth, Cousins Scott and Laura and their 2 boys Aidan and Corbin all drove up to Dallas from Houston too so it was a lot of fun to spend time with everyone. He didn't get selected for the sweet sixteen again this year but just had a blast getting to race.

Here is Laura and the boys and Merlin.

Scott and Ralph watching the other racers fly down the track.

The other boys watching the racers. Lane thought it was a bit too loud so he kept his ear protection on the whole time.
Macy hanging out in the back of the truck.
Susan, Branson and Mark at the track.

Grandma Marlene hanging out with Andrew. She hadn't seen him since he was 3 days old so he was looking pretty different.

Easter 2010

Easter this year was pretty laid back for us. We spent it with just our little family in the morning and were able to sleep in which is unusual with the little man but he woke up early and then laid right back down and we got to sleep until almost 10. It was absolutely beautiful. The Easter bunny did come visit Andrew and he got a whole bunch of new clothes, a lion toy that makes noise and has little teethers on it, and a bunch of new movies that he will enjoy someday. But for now mom and dad can enjoy them. James got some new clothes too which he had been badly needing.

That afternoon we spent Easter with our "Austin Family" and had a bbq which was a lot of fun. We counted up and had 11 adults and 19 children. It was quite the full house and I'm glad it was at the Scotts and not my house. :-) All of us brought our own steaks or chicken and we grilled those and Leslie made her wonderful gorgonzola cheese sauce to put on the meat and then the rest of us brought sides. We had enough food to feed twice the amount of people that were there and it was delicious.
Some of the older kids trying to hide from the camera.
And the younger kids having some backyard fun.
And this is Keri with her sassy new haircut that is now also red. So cute.

Then the older kids hid eggs for the younger kids at the park and we had a little easter egg hunt. Here are all the younger kids just ready to go.

Here are a couple of family pics that Betsy was kind enough to snap of us and I love that she caught Andrew smiling. So fun.

Hope you all had a Happy Easter and enjoyed celebrating the true meaning of it with family and friends. And of course enjoying what the Easter Bunny brought you.

St. Patricks Day

For St. Patricks Day Andrew was at his sitters and he got to have a fun day at the park with her 2 little ones, the 2 Haynes girls and the 2 youngest Ashford girls. He had a pretty fun day. He loves being outside and walking so the park was perfect for him. And of course Laura took a ton of pics so here you go.

Don't you love his cute little car blanket? Thanks Aunt Michelle, you have great taste. Funny that she picked out the exact fabric that I did except mine has a black background. Compare the blanket to the curtains in the nursery and you'll see.

Cute pics and a short video

These are some more pics taken of Andrew by his fantastic babysitter and friend Laura.

More Pics

Andrew has been going to the baby sitter twice a week while I am working. And my sweet friend Laura and her 2 little kiddos are the greatest babysitters he could have. He gets all kinds of lovin' and I get lots of pictures of the little guy that are super cute. Emma is the cutie patootie that you will see holding him in a lot of the pics. She told her mom that Andrew is her best friend and she loves on him the whole time he is there and loves to pet his soft little head. I'm so glad that he has a fun place to go while Mom is at work.

Laura even captured one of his rare moments of sleeping. He looks so peaceful I wish he would do this more often. :-)

2 Months Old

Andrew had his 2 month old check up last Friday. Can't believe it has been that long already. He is still a bit small for his age but he is growing. Here are all of his stats from his check up.

Date: 3/5/10 Age: 2 months
FOC (Head Measurement): 38.4 cm - 10th percentile
Weight: 9 lbs 2.5 oz - 5th Percentile
Height: 22.25 in - 10th percentile

He was not very happy with me at this appointment because the poor baby had to have 3 shots. I felt so bad. I had to hold his arms down and he looked at me like I was the meanest person ever. I went home and just cuddled him for the whole day.

Andrew is getting a bit more settled in life. He has started sleeping longer which his mom loves. 4-6 hours a night is paradise compared to 2 at a time. He started smiling at about 7 and a half weeks and at 9 weeks started cooing at us. It is absolutely adorable. Last week he started rolling from his tummy to his back and he gets so mad when it happens because he can't figure out what happened. He also has quite the pouty look down that I can't help but laugh at every time he does it. I need to be better at keeping the camera around so I can catch that look. This is the best one we have so far.

And then he has also started sticking his tongue out all the time. He likes to chew on it a bit. And he has discovered his hand and loves to chew on it and slobber on it.

We can't decide exactly who he looks like but it is definitely my side of the family that he resembles the most right now. We'll see if he stays that way.

We love this little man even if things are a bit crazy. I started back to work last week and had to leave him with a babysitter for the whole day. It was a bit rough but luckily my sweet friend Laura is watching him. It was so much easier thinking that I was just taking him to a friends house instead of a daycare. And her 4 year old Emma thinks he is the greatest. She loved his soft head and kept petting him so I'm glad he is well taken care of. Emma has decided that Andrew is her best friend.
I'll try and get a pic of how cute they are. He has so much fun over there that when I picked him up he crashed on the block home from their house to our house.

Bachelor Night

About a year ago a group of gals from church started getting together for Bachelor night. We all go to one persons house that Monday at 9 and bring junk food and watch the Bachelor/Bachelorette that we have dvr'd. I had never watched the Bachelor before and wouldn't watch it were it not for this group but we just have so much fun. We all pick our faves and talk about the crazy ones because there is inevitably a crazy one in each group....discuss their skanky clothes and how we can't understand how they can fall in love for real when being put in that crazy situation and having those kind of first dates how the rest of their relationship will be a disappointment. Lol....it is silly but we have a ton of fun.
Well last night was the finale for the Bachelor and Keri hosted it. She and Kristin planned all these fun surprises for all of us and it was soo cheeseball and such a blast!
I got a call from Kristin at about noon saying hey you are going right? And are you dressing up? (she mentioned on Sunday that she was going to Goodwill to find a formal to wear for the occasion and we all thought that sounded like a lot of fun). I of course was not really excited about that because I am still feeling the post - prego weight but I agreed and found a fairly dressy little black dress to wear. And she was like great! I'll pick you up at 8:30.
Now Keri was hosting and she lives like 2 blocks away from me but I said ok sure. I was planning on taking Andrew but when the doorbell rang and I asked James to put the carseat in her car he said I'm going to have a hard time with that since it is a limo. Sure enough I go outside and there is a stretch hummer limo to pick me up. I was very shocked. But it was so much fun. I've never been in a limo before. So we drove all over Pflugerville and picked up all 10 of us and get to Keri's house and they were like ok here are the rules. You each have to get out one at a time. Her husband was standing by the door in the spotlight all dressed up and handing out roses to each of us as they snapped a pic.

Then as we all walked in the house there were candles everywhere and the these for the bachelor this season was "On the Wings of Love" so Keri had downloaded that song and it was playing on repeat as we walked in the door.

And then we all took our group photo and dined on wings, chocolate covered strawberries and a variety of other sweets and 2 salads. :-) Those were kind of abnormal but awesome.

So anyhow we had a great time being complete cheeseball ladies and we were all very disappointed in the choice that Jake made. We all thought Vienna was white trash and not cute at all. Tenley was a much better choice. Now on to May and the new Bachelorette and more fun Monday nights.
Thanks Keri, Kristin, Del and Ken for making it a really fun night!!
