Matt's Wedding

James' other best friend, Matt Hill, got married in October. We are so excited for he and Jessica. And really excited for them to make the trek back to the great state of Texas. They are moving to Abilene from Albuquerque so it is not really near us, but we drive through there all the time on the way to Amarillo. Yea! And we are also really excited for them to be having their first baby next year.
Andrew thought it was great fun to get to hang out with Lane and Macy. They have way better toys than we do, and a whole room for them to play in and it is pretty tough to destroy it. That makes Mommy happy.


Macy was a great sitter and watched Andrew so I could just hang out.


I totally didn't get any great shots of the wedding at all. Oh well. Here are a few so you know we were there.








Andrew found a "tractor" outside Grandma and Grandpa's house that he decided was totally awesome and he kept climbing on it and driving it around.



Sun in his eyes is obviously not his favorite thing.

New Fleischman Family Pics

At Thanksgiving this year we decided we needed to do new photos with the Fleischman family. We have not done new photos except weddings since before James and I started dating - 10 years ago. So we have added myself and 1 new sister in law - Krista, and 4 new grandkids so it was time for an update. I really liked how they all turned out but note they did not turn out very good on the scanner. Oh well you can get the idea.

Andrew - he always sits like this - one leg in front, one behind. It's like he is always ready at a moments notice to crawl as fast as he can.

And James' oldest brother Pat and his wife Krista used the opportunity to tell us all they were expecting and catch it on camera. You can tell who heard what they said over the kids screaming Cheese and the rest of us that couldn't hear very well lol.

What is a first down?

As I have mentioned numerous times Nebraska football and college football in general reigns in our house from August to January. I am not supposed to plan anything on Saturday during at least the Nebraska game because I know that James will not be in attendance. Makes having a social life rough but I guess it is a good thing I have grown to enjoy football now that I know what it is all about.
It took me until our 3rd or 4th year of marriage and quite a few games attended and watched - to finally ask what a first down was. I know, I know crazy that I had no idea what this was but growing up in a family of girls and with a dad that was not into football didn't exactly give me much opportunity to learn this. So we had just gone to see Nebraska and Baylor play and on the way home I drop the question - what is a first down? James looks at me like I have 3 heads and asks if I am crazy. I told him I always hear them talk about this at the games but have no idea what it means. So he proceeded to spend the next hour and a half as we drove back to Austin from Waco, explaining football to me. I became enlightened and suddenly understood why football was enjoyable.
So the whole point of this post is we watch lots of football and wear our scarlet and cream and yell "Go Big Red" and "Husker Power" a lot. And Andrew will now get to learn all of that too.

Grandma Fleischman and Aunt Linda sent Andrew his own Nebraska hat after we went to visit in October so now he and Daddy can match.

He is not so keen about having anything on his head but we're working on it.


Intently trying to get at his toy - I got a jump on his Christmas shopping this year so he just played with it in the box until Christmas lol.

A Few More From Halloween

My friend Melissa had a Halloween party for her 9 year old daugher Kimbri
and of course Andrew was invited. So we went over for the festivities which included a cake walk that her dad played guitar and made up songs about monsters for, a scary story reading (which wasn't so scary at all), silly string which I think mostly got sprayed on Mitchell - Melissa's brother,


Not sure exactly what they were doing here but it had something to do with silly string.

food that looked kind of gross but tasted good and lots of sugary sweets to make a bunch of 9 year old girls really excitable. Andrew mostly just watched and tried to figure out how to get Scooby off of his head lol.



RAWR!! He really likes to growl - you know getting into character and all.

Halloween

We took Andrew to his first pumpkin patch this year for the fall. My favorite time of the year. I love the colors and fall food and the holidays and the cooler weather that finally allows for outdoor activity :-). So of course this was our first fall time activity.

Of course everything goes in his mouth. Must have tasted a lot like dirt because it was very short lived lol.

He was loving the feel of the pumpkins and just kept feeling all of the little bumps and giggling.

For Halloween I found this super cute Scooby Doo costume for $10 and decided that James and I would go as Shaggy and Velma. I know James doesn't have the wig - he refused - but I did the best I could. It was a lot of fun and I completely loved Andrew in his costume. He kept trying to pull the head down and play with it. Totally didn't get the trick or treating thing but it was all for me anyways.
