December

So December was pretty uneventful for us with planning on going out of town for almost 2 weeks. We tried to play the rest of the month pretty low key. James turned 31 and we went out to the Alamo Drafthouse to celebrate. Alamo Drafthouse is a genius concept. Dinner and a movie all in one shot. Cheaper babysitter fees because it is less time too. We went and saw the first half of the last Harry Potter.

I am slow to get on the HP bandwagon. I have seen the movies but didn't really understand them all due to the lack of reading and Hollywood's tendency to remove important details because they like to keep us guessing I suppose. So I finally read the books last summer and all of a sudden they make sense and I liked them a lot.

Then for the first time since we have lived in Austin we went to see the lighting of the tree at Zilker Park. Normally Austin has a tradition at Christmas of lighting the tree and then they have a trail of lights throughout Zilker Park with really cool setups and designs. Yeah we haven't ever been. Too much traffic, out of town, other plans etc. And this year due to budget cuts the Trail of Lights was cut and it was down to a tree lighting with a bunch of different music. So some of our friends in the neighborhood invited us to go to the tree lighting with them and then have dinner over there. So we figured we can't truly be Austinites until we have seen the tree lighting. It just happened that this was one of the really cold days but we bundled ourselves up and headed down there. It was really crowded but we had a good time. Andrew wasn't quite sure what to make of all the people and the lights but we got some cute pics anyway.

Don't you love the totally random family busting in on our family pic? Lol it was so crowded you just smiled and hoped it turned out.

Love the pics. You and James are cute but that lil nephew of mine just makes the pictures so much more adorable! Ha ha. That sounds like fun though!
