2 Months Old

Andrew had his 2 month old check up last Friday. Can't believe it has been that long already. He is still a bit small for his age but he is growing. Here are all of his stats from his check up.

Date: 3/5/10 Age: 2 months
FOC (Head Measurement): 38.4 cm - 10th percentile
Weight: 9 lbs 2.5 oz - 5th Percentile
Height: 22.25 in - 10th percentile

He was not very happy with me at this appointment because the poor baby had to have 3 shots. I felt so bad. I had to hold his arms down and he looked at me like I was the meanest person ever. I went home and just cuddled him for the whole day.

Andrew is getting a bit more settled in life. He has started sleeping longer which his mom loves. 4-6 hours a night is paradise compared to 2 at a time. He started smiling at about 7 and a half weeks and at 9 weeks started cooing at us. It is absolutely adorable. Last week he started rolling from his tummy to his back and he gets so mad when it happens because he can't figure out what happened. He also has quite the pouty look down that I can't help but laugh at every time he does it. I need to be better at keeping the camera around so I can catch that look. This is the best one we have so far.

And then he has also started sticking his tongue out all the time. He likes to chew on it a bit. And he has discovered his hand and loves to chew on it and slobber on it.

We can't decide exactly who he looks like but it is definitely my side of the family that he resembles the most right now. We'll see if he stays that way.

We love this little man even if things are a bit crazy. I started back to work last week and had to leave him with a babysitter for the whole day. It was a bit rough but luckily my sweet friend Laura is watching him. It was so much easier thinking that I was just taking him to a friends house instead of a daycare. And her 4 year old Emma thinks he is the greatest. She loved his soft head and kept petting him so I'm glad he is well taken care of. Emma has decided that Andrew is her best friend.
I'll try and get a pic of how cute they are. He has so much fun over there that when I picked him up he crashed on the block home from their house to our house.

Bachelor Night

About a year ago a group of gals from church started getting together for Bachelor night. We all go to one persons house that Monday at 9 and bring junk food and watch the Bachelor/Bachelorette that we have dvr'd. I had never watched the Bachelor before and wouldn't watch it were it not for this group but we just have so much fun. We all pick our faves and talk about the crazy ones because there is inevitably a crazy one in each group....discuss their skanky clothes and how we can't understand how they can fall in love for real when being put in that crazy situation and having those kind of first dates how the rest of their relationship will be a disappointment. Lol....it is silly but we have a ton of fun.
Well last night was the finale for the Bachelor and Keri hosted it. She and Kristin planned all these fun surprises for all of us and it was soo cheeseball and such a blast!
I got a call from Kristin at about noon saying hey you are going right? And are you dressing up? (she mentioned on Sunday that she was going to Goodwill to find a formal to wear for the occasion and we all thought that sounded like a lot of fun). I of course was not really excited about that because I am still feeling the post - prego weight but I agreed and found a fairly dressy little black dress to wear. And she was like great! I'll pick you up at 8:30.
Now Keri was hosting and she lives like 2 blocks away from me but I said ok sure. I was planning on taking Andrew but when the doorbell rang and I asked James to put the carseat in her car he said I'm going to have a hard time with that since it is a limo. Sure enough I go outside and there is a stretch hummer limo to pick me up. I was very shocked. But it was so much fun. I've never been in a limo before. So we drove all over Pflugerville and picked up all 10 of us and get to Keri's house and they were like ok here are the rules. You each have to get out one at a time. Her husband was standing by the door in the spotlight all dressed up and handing out roses to each of us as they snapped a pic.

Then as we all walked in the house there were candles everywhere and the these for the bachelor this season was "On the Wings of Love" so Keri had downloaded that song and it was playing on repeat as we walked in the door.

And then we all took our group photo and dined on wings, chocolate covered strawberries and a variety of other sweets and 2 salads. :-) Those were kind of abnormal but awesome.

So anyhow we had a great time being complete cheeseball ladies and we were all very disappointed in the choice that Jake made. We all thought Vienna was white trash and not cute at all. Tenley was a much better choice. Now on to May and the new Bachelorette and more fun Monday nights.
Thanks Keri, Kristin, Del and Ken for making it a really fun night!!

Update #2

Ok so here is the promised update #2. My wonderfully talented friend Betsy took these pictures and they turned out great. She was able to capture my little man looking so cute. So here are a couple of the favorites from 3 weeks.
Andrew's great grandma Betty made the yellow afghan for him and it matched so perfectly with the fabric on the basket.

I loved these little pants that my friend Keri gave me. They were huge on the little man but just too precious.

I love that his eyes were wide open and you could see how big and pretty they are.

This was a great picture of Grandma Liz with Andrew. Can you tell she is the proud Grandma or what??

And our family picture again that I thought turned out pretty cute.

Part 1 of the update

Ok I am really behind on any updates and I apologize. I'll try to update a bit. My cousin BrieAnn and her daughter Cora came and spent a week with us a couple of weeks ago. We had a lot of fun. Cora is growing up so quick. She showed me all of the songs she has learned to sing and she is just a little character. BrieAnn is pregnant again and due this summer so it was a good way for her to see what a toddler and a newborn will be like. :-) It gave me the same experience and I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon lol. We didn't get a whole lot done but just enjoyed being able to hang out.
One of the days we took Cora to the park in our neighborhood. She loved it and kept running up to go down the slide. >
She thought it was awesome. BrieAnn and I took turns running up there with her.Andrew slept through the whole experience.
I took them both to the best cupcake place. It is called Polkadots. And that is about the extent of our excitement for the week.
Some cute pics of the little man. He is getting his bath which he totally loves. We found out that Andrew has reflux and that was causing him some major pain so we have him on medicine now and he seems to be doing much better. But bath time is one of his happiest times.
And here is a cute pic of him sleeping. That is also pretty rare. He will go to sleep when you are holding him but staying asleep is what is really hard.

I have also made a bit more progress on the nursery. Here is the murals progress. It looks awesome. Thanks Kristin!!! You rock! She didn't want me to take any pics until it was done but I had to show you how it is looking so far.
And here are some pics of the rest of the room.

While mom was here i had her make me some curtains for the nursery and then also for my front window next to the door. So excited.

I have other stuff too but will post a bit later. Time to feed the little booger man now.

More pics for the sisters

My mom is in town this week getting to be Grandma to little Andrew. So he is getting spoiled rotten and loving every minute of it. And we are taking lots of pics of the little guy too.
This is the onesie that his Dad picked out for him. And this is at 2 1/2 weeks.

This is for his aunties. :-) We found this super cute onesie that we thought he had to have and knew his aunts would all appreciate it. Mom and I thought it was stinkin' adorable.

Here are James and I with our little man at 3 weeks.

And the 3 generations of my family. Me, mom and Andrew.

Here is James' favorite thing to do so far with Andrew. And it is no wonder why we can't get him to go to sleep on his own. Would you if you could cuddle?

Andrew Keenan is Here

Ok so I am really far behind. We had Andrew on the 27th of December. He was 2 weeks early and although I was hoping he would come early, I was totally unprepared. My water broke around 5:30 in the morning and I finally woke James up and told him we needed to go to the hospital around 8. We got there around 9 and I had Andrew at 3:46.
He decided to make things a bit difficult by coming out with his head sideways and his arm over his head. I was really glad to get him out of there as you can imagine. He was really worth all of the effort but I am glad to be done with that portion of this process.
Now I have the "easy" part of the process. We are trying to get him on a schedule but so far he has me on his schedule lol. James has spent the last 2 weeks home with me but goes back to work on Monday. So I'll be all on my own until my mom gets here next weekend. Hopefully I survive! I'll post more pics later but here are a few for now.

Baby Shower

I am obviously and not surprisinly behind on posting. I had my first baby shower almost 3 weeks ago and still haven't posted anything. Thanks to all the lovely ladies that helped with my shower. Keri for organizing it and hosting it at her house and coming up with the fun diner idea and food.
Betsy and Leslie (in the pic on the left) and Kristin and Alma and Betzi and Chontal (in the pic on the right) - I hope I didn't forget anyone - for helping with the food and decorations, etc. Laura for the cute sparkly table (You can kind of see it in the background here) . And if I left anyone out I plead pregnancy brain!
Keri turned her house into a "50's Diner" complete with oldies on the radio, records all over and red, black and white decor. The food was delicious - slider burgers (with homemade buns - Thanks Chontal), french fries and onion rings, root beer floats
and apple and cherry pie.

We didn't play any games but I think with as much talking as all of us like to do the games were not missed. I had a great time hanging out with the wonderful ladies from church and got some really great - and much needed items. I even got a gorgeous quilt in red, black and white that matches the room perfectly! Thanks Betsy, I love that you are so crafty and dang good at it too.
Thank you Marie for being my scribe because there is no way I would have remembered anything!
Thanks so much lovely ladies for coming and hanging out with me and being a great group of friends that I love to death!

Did I mention this will be the most well dressed little man ever!

I had another shower last weekend with the great ladies that I work with and completely forgot to take any pics of the whole thing. I suck with the camera thing. We had it after work last Friday and had a great time and great food again. Thanks Natalie and Stephanie and Becky for hosting my shower and to everyone who came to that too. I really enjoyed getting to hang out and think we should definitely do it again. :-) Sorry I have no pics to post of that and everyone who came to it.
